Citizen Game: The video game show we made because nobody else would make it for us. (42 minutes – the Youtube playlist above will play each of the 5 sections automatically)
In episode one we take a look at the rising cost of DLC and the fall of PC games on the highstreet. We play FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa, Super Street Fighter 4 and Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess and take a trip to Guildford to meet Hello Games, the creators of upcoming PS3 downloadable game Joe Danger.
If you liked the show, then please rate, subscribe, sign up the site and tweet this shit to high heavens.
It’s been a long road to getting the show up and running, we’d love any and all feedback.

Hey guys, great show. Was it supposed to be a joke that you cut in JC2 when saying “decent voiceacting”? When will the next episode come up?
Also there is a minor bugin your registration, when I sign up it says “registration complete” but also “reCAPTCHA” not filled in. And since all your mails ended in spam I thought my reg didn’t work and tried different browsers first.
Great first episode. Very professional.
Will the legend that is Tamoor still be involved now that he’s working for CVG?
Great start to the new series!
Very well made, can’t wait for episode 2
Really enjoyed the show guys. Very good. Great to see you finally getting this off the ground. There were perhaps a few areas that could have been edited down slightly but overall it was excellent. I look forward to your future releases.
Lets see some more of your spoof ads as well! Loved that one with Danny when I first saw it way back when and was good to see it again.
I got here from Gamespot, after watching your bit on DLC and have really like what I’ve seen so far. On the vid, not that I’m qualified to say much, but I liked most of it and will prob watch again.
Playtests were interesting to a point but perhaps they’d work better as part of more structured review, or as a one per episode type job. Really liked the DLC and Interview thing though, look forward to seeing more features.
Anywho, that’s my anonymous two pence.
The show looks great!
Congrats on getting episode one out..look forward to the next episodes.
Really enjoyed this. Well-shot, well-edited, nice use of music and most importantly, Danny and Tamoor are entertaining and funny while also being substantial and insightful with their commentaries. WOULD WATCH REGULARLY!
Great work guys. I’m proud to be associated with such a quality product.
Your man from hello games looks like john cleese. I had pictured tamoor as really small and skinny some reason, he’s actually chewbacca!
Really enjoyed the episode though, was really really well done. Seriously fair fucks, should be proud of it!
Great first episode! I think the best part for me was probably the interview with Hello Games, mostly because I like to hear more about developers.

I don’t think I’d agree with Tamoor in saying that PC gaming in dead. When you take into account that things like Steam being ported to Mac (and soon Linux). Services like Desura just being setup, and indie games selling better then ever on PC. The evidence seems to contradict the claims.
I don’t really understand how Tamoor thinks that games can’t be pirated because of services like Steam, and crazy DRM will go away.Even on Stream, some games require Third party DRM and Stream in it’s self is DRM. Though I don’t think Stream is on the same level as the Ubisoft DRM.
tldr; I think Tamoor is wrong about PC gaming, unless he’s talking about retail.

haha, Barry. Some people probably wont get that thats sarcasm though u gimp.
Meh, it’s no Game Damage…
Wanting feedback? Well, you got it anyway:
That was among some of the best games programming I have ever seen! Absolutely perfect use of subtle humour like the shouting girlfriend, grooming book and Nando’s reference. Much better than the ‘crazy-zany’ crap other shows have tried.
The interview with Tamoor was great, but the music was overhead was a bit loud and repetitive, making it seem duller than it actually was.
The sort of ‘play-through review’ of those three games was brilliant! An excellent style of TV review I don’t think I have ever seen before. Very innovative and very impressive. The street fighter screens seemed a bit off centre though, with stuff cut out on the right hand side, that was the only thing that appeared even close to unprofessional.
I did think it would work best with games you could play together ‘on the couch’ so both of you were playing together but you proved me wrong with M(P)SMP, which looked so much fun I am downloading it now! I doubt I would never have even thought about this game if not for your feature.
The TV static bleeps in between segments were a bit cliche and irritating.
Fantastic interviews and well edited. It took a bit long before they actually started talking about the game though. The game itself looks pretty good and if the price is right and gets an impressive demo/reviews I will give it a go. Looks like great fun. Being able to build your own stunt courses sounds great as well.
Your first time, and I have to say you guys have done a fecking amazing job. Here is hoping there are many more of these! With a show this good I would even forgive you sticking a few ads in there so you could make a few quid on it.

PIRACY IS NOT KILLING THE PC GAMING INDUSTRY! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU GETTING YOUR PIRACY FIGURES FROM!? http://blog.wolfire.com/2010/05/Another-view-of-game-piracy is all I have to say
EDIT: Sorry about that, people blaming piracy for things gets on my nerves and makes me foam at the mouth. It looks really professional, and does look good. But Tamoor, I would gladly debate with you about piracy. Yes it’s a problem, but it’s not killing the industry. Only the real hardcore actually know how to pirate, most people don’t know what an iso is, let alone how to mount them. I also want to throw this at you http://www.positech.co.uk/talkingtopirates.html

Tamoor’s beard is kind of epic.

Now when do we get this as an RSS feed for podcasting
Fan-fooking-tastic Danny. Lots of great content and some great editing. Looking forward to what the future may hold for Citizen Game!
Just in case anybody doesn’t realise, above is a YouTube playlist with 5 videos. Each video should load automatically after the next one. So its 42 minutes in total.
I totally agree about DLC, most of you probably know how much I used to love Capcom a few years back. Now I can barley stand them with them taking my wallet to a whole new level of pain. Street Fighter being my favorite series around they have really gone crazy with costs. I bought the speical edition at about 80 euro on launch. This didnt even come with all the costumes the remaining costumes were about a fiver per pack, I thin kthere were 5 packs in total.
Then the expansion game SSFIV adding a new bunch of characters and modes at 30 euro. Then each character pack again at about 5 euro but with more packs then the orignal game :O
Anyway well doen of the show looks great!
