Thanks for the read James! I’m playing on pc- to Bethesda’s credit, it runs exceptionally well on my system, despite not having been updated in a year or so. I’ve always been something of a PC purist and couldn’t imagine playing an Elder Scrolls game on anything else. The access to mods will hopefully help [...]

I’m getting back into Skyrim for the first time in a month. Perhaps this will be immediately indicative of the lesser captivation it has had on me compared to its enrapturing predecessor, Oblivion: from release, there was rarely a week in which the game didn’t amass hours of my time. Hopefully, once re-invested into Skyrim, there [...] -

Virtual City 2: Paradise Resort, developed by G5 Games, is a satisfying and approachable city management simulation, and a worthy successor to its predecessor. The game casts the player as a civic planner of sorts, tasked with balancing economics, environmental factors and citizen contentment, while accomplishing other specific goals in a mission-based campaign through towns [...] -

As gamers, we have spent innumerable hours in countless games, assuming the role of another individual, through their eyes. Despite the advances in gaming from its inception until today, the nuances and intricacies of the human eye has yet to be truly represented. Some movements have erroneously traveled towards placing us behind a camera, employing lens [...] -

Looks like an intuitive, cute, addictive game. Maybe not as captivating as GameDev Story, but it looks like it has similar appeal

It’s with a profound, polarising sensation that I absorb this post; it’s a delight to see the overlong silence broken, with a surge of site activity, but in the worst possible way. The last two years saw CitizenGame as an ironclad bookmark in my browser, and I would literally count down the days until the [...]

An excellent insight into a beloved game and series. I feel the CM series has always served the niche of footy fans who needed an outlet for the pub talk of where a club should go, and wished to fantasise about occupying the Sun’s back page. I was never a huge soccer fan myself, but [...]

A tweet confirmed it’s all new tech, for which I am grateful. One thing that could certainly be said for Oblivion was that it had certain… nuances about it, thanks to the rather chunky-feeling engine. Geographically, Skyrim appears to be a smaller province than Cyrodiil, so all I can ask of Bethesda is that they [...]

I’m personally ecstatic with this news. Oblivion was my most-played, most-beloved game, still played daily, and I’ve been awaiting its successor with bated breath -
Yoshi’s Island had memorable glacial zones, and I’ve spent countless seasons trudging through the white Christmas that is cs_office. The ice levels in Cannon Fodder also broke up the jungle missions Jools and Jops would frequently undertake

Your perspective in WoW will certainly be a far cry from all the other fanatical, level-eighty bloggers who may document their forays into the restructured lands. I’m looking forward to more of this

Well worth the wait, and a fascinating perspective; a far cry from repetitive previews like every other website. Once again, CG triumphs in its individuality.

(Bit of a listener question): In light of Enslaved having quite noticeable load-areas, can you think of any novel solutions to loading screens and the such? They’ve been all but phased out and even disguised (á la COD4 mission briefings), but where they do exist, perhaps there’s a way around? I propose every loading screen [...]

Luckily for you, Mr T, Wizards has recently released The Red Box. It should go for about £15, and contains pre-generated characters, dice and some adventures for low-level characters, all in an Old-School package, reminscient of the original Basic D&D of the ’70s. It’ll surely work to be a solid demo of how the game [...]

Thank you for your interest, Daniel
A typical game session might last 3-5 hours, though they usually ever only end because a player has to leave; trust me, it’s so engrossing that one would gladly play marathon sessions. The extrapolation of character action (having to tell the DM what you wish to do; seeing [...] -

As much mystery and social stigma surrounds the practice, I am a Dungeon Master. There’s nothing better than a night in with the lads, ready to roll initiative, unless it’s running the game itself. I here provide an opportunity to learn about the oft-maligned game of Dungeons & Dragons: how it’s played, how it has [...]

After sinking incalculable hours into Oblivion, it’s undoubtedly my favourite RPG, if not game. The breadth of depth, variety (ignoring the repetitive voicework; it’s there if you look
) and memorable experiences keep me coming back, once a week at the very least. I enter and leave periods of obsession and fascination, and often strive [...] -

I suppose he thrills on any headlines he can grab with such bold, broad claims. Often people will have pessimistic views, just to brag on being correct if they are, but they’re less-frequently criticised for being incorrect in such cases.
