Nice review/playtest (very good Barron reference). How are the controls compared to a pad?

God this is such a good game. Great review Mr Barron.

Rocketron is my android game of choice. It’s easy to spend hours perfecting timing; the only control is tapping the screen to swap gravity as you side-scroll through a level avoiding holes in the floor. Dark Souls’ level of difficulty with microsoft paint level graphics (not actually quite that bad). Prepare to die. Really short bursts of entertainment create just the right balance between satisfaction and frustration.

Great choice of characters. Marston is my favourite… but only cos Don Draper isn’t in a game yet.

Anyone up for anything at all game night wise? TF2 maybe? (Because everyone has it)

While the general consensus seems to be that striving towards realism is the best option, maybe we should head towards more abstract techniques. Ultimately, I think, the role of gaming is, rather than put you in someone else’s shoes, take you our of your own. That probably makes no sence, but what I’m trying to [...]

Ditto. Love the show, and pretty amazed at the time you put into it @Elmo. See you at eurogamer!

‘Mark-Webberus’ – As long as this spell is active, man can you hit those apexes on your horse. However chances of getting hit square on the jaw increases 300%, as you chin triples in size.

In a similar story, but in Australia, EA Visceral Melbourne, devs who worked on Dead Space 2 and Dant’es Inferno look like they going to close on Monday. More bloody closures in the industry. And more bloody closures in Australia.

    Thanks,

Prince of Persia and Lara Croft as exceptions, there hasn’t been recent big blockbuster efforts to make the switch.

I think if enough effort went in and the right game was chosen (not like the action oriented ones above) the gap could be bridged. Maybe no one feels it’s necessary.

Thought we might be over this. More evidence to show there should be subsidies for games developers in the UK. OSBORNE !!!! *shakes fist*

ThumbnailI’m sure huge numbers of people have seen a film, usually action-packed with explosions and gunfire round every corner, and thought ‘that would make a good game’. As soon as the reviews come out, the inevitable pile of crap, or worse, pile of adequacy is uncovered. With the evidence in front of you, some of you [...]

  • Matthew Woolley commented on the blog post Free Deus Ex OnLive code   9 months ago · View

While I don’t think GameStop should be opening boxes, mainly due to strict returns policies etc. I think ultimately, they shouldn’t have to give away competitors products without some sort of contract signed. It’s more underhanded by Square Enix and/or OnLive in forcing these codes to be given out. However an announcement should’ve been made [...]
