Koln / Cologne / Koeln?
Two days and counting.

On Friday morning myself, Tamoor and the Welsh Mark will be flying Easyjet style to west Germany to meet up with tens of thousands of other gamers at Gamescom 2010. News from the event has around all week as both the European Games Developer Conference and a host of press events have been going on since Tuesday. Tomorrow however is when the trade show starts, where hundreds of booths for as many games will be mobbed by the public. And that’s why we’re going!

Just like our trip to Leipzig in 2008, we’ll be covering Gamescom 2010 from a purely consumer perspective. Instead of purely covering interviews, news and previews, we’ll be documenting the entire four day trip to give you an insight into what it’s like attending the event. Everything from what we played, the people we met, the nightlife, our shitty hotel, Tamoor’s snoring and running out of money on the last day and having to get by on McDonald’s ketchup packets.

If that sounds cool to you, then visit the site over the weekend to read our text updates and be sure to check out Episode 4 when it comes out in two weeks time.

The site:
While I have you here, thank you for visiting the new Citizen game website. Though many of the new sections look pretty funky, you can be sure that these will be getting cleaned up over the coming days and weeks. Functionality wise we’re going to simplify a lot of how you interact with the site too. I just thought a month was enough downtime for any site as big as ours, so please bear with us while we clean up. If you have any bugs you think we may have missed, please let me know on my activity wall. Oh and give us your feedback on the site too. We care what you think!

Now, must get packing…
