Welcome back sports fans.
And lo, it was the end. After many months the first Citizen Gamebowl (Blood Bowl edition) has come to a close and we have a champion crowned. Early on in the league it became apparent that two teams were going to dominate the competition, their coaches well versed in the rules of the game and confident in their teams abilities. It surprised no one when Neo Prophet’s Magic Dinosaurs and Kelron’s Goats of Wrath went through to face one another in the final, and the winning team to come out of that battle was…
The Goats of Wrath!
Kelron’s forces of Chaos have been crowned champions in the Citizen Gamebowl after defeating the Dinosaurs with just a single touchdown scored in the entire match. Below, for posterity, is the complete match video. The first half is particularly brutal, the centre field covered in blood by half time.
Congratulations to Kelron, commiserations to Neo. The Dinosaurs played an absolute stormer of a season but now must take second place.
Our runner-up match between Dezzick and J-Snukk to determine third and fourth place had to be abandoned due to connection problems. Given the fact that J-Snukk’s Scarpering Scalies ended the league with more points and more victories than Dezzick’s Bankers, J-Snukk has been awarded third place.
So, to commemorate their victory, the Goats will be the first team to be entered onto the Citizen Gamebowl Roll of Honour. Behold!

And with that, the league has come to its conclusion. Trying to sum it all up is tricky, but the word “suprising” certainly pops up. I was surprised by the quality of the teams and coaches that took part. Gentlemanly and enthusiastic, with just a pinch of bastard that defines any true sportsman, they were all a pleasure to play against. I hope we’ll have everyone back for next season. I was suprised by my own performance too. I genuinely thought I’d do better, but it’s hard to get the best out of any Blood Bowl team, even more so when you’re playing against other human beings. I underestimated the scale of the challenge. But, even when I was having my ass handed to me, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed league play. It’s tough but has the potential for tense thrills and laughs aplenty.
So, here are the collected entries of the league coverage with match videos, break downs and what not. The highs, the lows, the additional lows, the faint promise of a potential high, and then all the other lows compiled here for your pleasure.
Update One: In which Red Dwarf beat up some Dark Elves.

We’ll see you all next season, when we kick off the Citizen Gamebowl II Spring 2011 tournament with the newly released Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition. If you fancy participating send an email to barry@citizengame.co.uk, message me through the site or stick a comment in this post.

I picked up Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition during the steam Christmas sales with season 2 in mind.
Despite multiple hours i’m still shockingly bad. My biggest achievement to date is only being beaten 2-1.
So season two entrants look forward to hammering me.
Congratulations to Kelron! And to Barry for organising such an epic tournament! This game still scares the crap out of me
I’m up for the new season. I won’t be playing Dwarves again though…
