Blood Bowl Update – Round Two

Welcome back sports fans.

The Citizen GameBowl Winter 2010 is now moving along nicely after the interruption we saw in Round One. When last I wrote about the league we were still waiting on results for two match ups due to the delays caused by the multiplayer server outage, so here are the second pair of results from Round One:

The Magic Dinosaurs 3-0 The Dwarrowdelf Beers

Wunch O’ Bankers 1-1 Scarpering Scalies

Coach Neo Prophet’s Lizardman team The Magic Dinosaurs romped home to a serious victory against Jon_hill987′s battered Dwarf team the Dwarrowdelf Beers in what Neo himself described as a “jamtastic” win, with the third touchdown clinched in the final moments. Jon did not have such a nice time – “One of my Dwarves managed to knock himself out trying to pick up the ball. As I said at the time ‘I know they like their drink, but this is stupid.’”

In less interesting fashion, the Bankers vs Scalies game was declared an amicable tie by coaches Dezzick and J-Snukk as they couldn’t connect to one another to actually get the game in. In future, if other teams have a similar problem, they’ll be able to opt for a 1-1 result to keep things moving along.

Unconscious mere moments earlier, he still managed to score. The git.

Round Two has just wrapped up without any serious technical hitches and only one delay caused by one coach moving house. The Red Dwarves came away with another draw, failing to put any serious dents in the Bankers. The Bankers played a great (and hilarious) first half, a risky throw landing their Catcher with the ball deep in my half with no Dwarf able to really catch him. He ran for the endzone, tripped himself up in the endzone and dropped the ball, but was able to get up again next turn and pick up for the ball for a score, so far away were my any of my players. The Humans ultimately proved a bit more resilient than Dark Elves, even managing to break the jaw of my Runner. The jerks. He’ll miss the next game, but I’ve just discovered it’s against team Walkover. Damn lucky, considering my Runner is about the only Dwarf who can be relied upon to actually pick up the ball and run with it.

Coach Kelron’s Chaos team the Goats get their first proper game in against the Dinosaurs (having been paired against the Walkovers last round) and come away with a respectable 1-1 draw, while Asmodeus’s Dark Elves catch a break this week thanks to the automatic victory against team Walkover. Jon’s Dwarves did not fare so well against coach J-Snukk’s Lizardmen, suffering a 2-0 defeat. The Dwarrowdelf Beers seem to be having a tough season so far, low points of the most recent game including a Troll Slayer (basically the nastiest bastard on a Dwarf team) getting laid out while trying to take down a Skink (basically the weakest player on a Lizardmen team).

Here are the results in full:

Goats of Wrath 1-1 The Magic Dinosaurs

The Walkovers 0-2 Asmo’s Anklebreakers

Red Dwarf IV 1-1 Wunch O’Bankers

The Dwarrowdelf Beers 0-2 The Scarpering Scalies

Below is the league table as it stands at the start of Round Three. Red Dwarf IV is currently top, thanks to the Walkover auto-victory, but I reckon that won’t last long.

This will probably be the last time you see Red Dwarf so high.

As always, don’t forget we’ve got the Citizen Game Blood Bowl group if you fancy getting involved.
