Looking for Group?

Hail Citizens.

We’ve implemented a lot of new features at Citizen Game this year, always with the goal of making it as easy as possible for people to get together, talk about games and maybe find some folk to play them with too. We love to play games as much as you, which is why we organise stuff like the Citizen Game Nights and our live events whenever we can.

But one of the oft-overlooked features on the site is the Group system we’ve put in place to help us do that, and it’s there to help you organise your own game nights too. Simply put, Groups are a great way for gamers with a particular interest to come together and organise activities, or just hang out and chat.

If you click on the Groups section on the site you’ll see what I mean. We’ve got groups for things like the Citizen Game Night, a News group, platform-specific groups and whatnot. But you, as a user of the site, can create any Group you like and ask people to join. For instance, when we started the Citizen Game Blood Bowl league the first thing I did was create a Blood Bowl Group on the site for participants to join, making it much easier for me to keep track of who was involved (or interested in getting involved) and to communicate with them. Some community members are big fans of the game League of Legends and have already set up a Group for it.

I've no idea what they're talking about, but I love that they're doing it.

Any user can create a Group on Citizen Game and we encourage it. Are you big into old school Atari games and looking to find other folks who dig them too? Set up a Group. Want more regular games of Halo: Reach but can’t stand the random people on XBL? Set up a Group. Then just invite some other community members or friends outside of the Citizen Game fold and you’re away. Go nuts, have fun, it’s what the feature is there for.

To get started, simply click on the Groups section and then on the Create a Group Button and fill in the details. And that’s it. Happy groping. I mean, grouping.
