Golden Joysticks 09′
Two weeks ago myself and Barry attended the Golden Joystick Awards in central London. The event was short and sweet (we reckon most of the developers attended to enjoy the after party hosted by DJ Shadow) and the winners were an interesting choice, especially as they were voted for by 1,200,000, gamers across the UK. Comedian Sean Lock presented the awards to a ballroom full of developers, publishers and hangers on while we enjoyed the comfort of the media room.
While there I had the chance to talk to DJ D-Code, music developer for DJ Hero and Sonic World Record Holder James Richards. When you’re done with the video, check out the winners below and let us know what you think in the comments. More information about the event can be found here.
And the Winners are:
Handheld Game of the Year – Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (iPhone)
Mobile Game of the Year – Metal Gear Solid: Touch (iPhone)
Nintendo Game of the Year – Call of Duty: World at War (Wii)
Multiplayer Game of the Year – Call of Duty: World at War (PC, 360, PS3, Wii)
Soundtrack of the Year – Guitar Hero: World Tour (360, PS3, Wii, PS2)
Xbox Game of the Year – Gears of War 2 (360)
PC Game of the Year – Fallout 3 (PC)
UK Developer of the Year – Jagex
PlayStation Game of the Year – Killzone 2 (PS3)
Publisher of the Year – Activision Blizzard
Online Game of the Year – Left 4 dead (PC, 360)
One to Watch – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PC, 360, PS3)
Ultimate Game of the Year – Fallout 3 (PC, 360, PS3)

Modern Warfare 2 won the "One to Watch" award. Those 5 people made it i guess.

Now I really gotta go back to going for the sonic 1 record, it’s been like two years now.
Jagex wining UK developer seems a little mad. I defiantly would have though Media Molecule would have had it.
Looking forward to more video content.
really great vid.. love it
@Tamoor I reckon that there is some Japanese kid working on that right now. Thanks for the update!
Haha, great stuff guys. Really enjoyed watching this, for a second i thought that guy completed the whole of Sonic in 28 seconds. Love the thoughtful zombie pose too.
